Headlights - HID or Standard Halogen
I bought a set of headlights on eBay and a while back and they came with HID bulbs. I popped them in without a conversion kit to see if they would work and they weren't too bad until I drove at night in the rain with them. That night I ordered the conversion kit and the next day I picked up some halogen bulbs to run with until the kit gets here. Well I turned the halogens on and they worked better than I thought they would with smoked headlights. Now the question is, do I install the HID kit when it gets here or do I sell it off on eBay and enjoy my halogens?

I dunno that's up to you. If you're happy with the halogens then use that. It's whatever floats your boat.

Yeah, I guess I'm just wondering if HIDs are actually much better than halogens.

Lefty is right, they are brighter. Some people just go for the simplicity of halogens. I had HIDs and would like to have them again, but I have had two kits go bad and I dont feel like spending anymore money on them.

Alright thanks for your input guys. I think I'll dump the kit off on someone else when it gets here. I could spend the money better on other mods

Well i have smoked HIDs and when i had halogen bulbs they were ok, but once i put HIDs in, it was night and day. it all depends on how much night driving you do, or at least it did to me. plus the install isnt too bad

Eh, I'm out every night but it's usually short ventures. Maybe 20 minute drives at the most. I save my long drives for day time but my headlights aren't really dark by any means. They seem to be putting out about as much light as other vehicles using halogen bulbs.

maybe my smoked headlights are darker than yours, because when i got my smoked headlights the first thing i did was go buy silver star ultras, and it didnt make much difference at all. really, its all about preference though. it all depends on if you like the look of them, because installing them really isnt that hard. i did it by myself and i have little to no experience doing anything like that

Do you want to trade smoked headlights? Mine are dark as hell it seems, even with HID's.
