I tried to do mine and failed miserably. They look so bad now.
![]() I think they would look fine red on your red car.

I would leave the side markers alone on a red car. They blend and flow much nicer then having to black dots on the side of your car.

^ I agree 100%
I think painting those black would take to much attention away from the better features of your car such as your black spolier etc..

Good point... I will prolly keep it red. The work that would be involved in doing it out weighs the benifits anyways.

Got the cowl piece mostly taped off and started the sanding process today. Only had about 15m to work on it. Plan to get alot done tomorrow hopefully.

The only problem I see is that the pieces you are painting are textured so they wont come out like you think. Should sand them smoth then high buld prim then paint

I did but it looks like just a rough sannd and paint to me, not enough to remove the texture on it? Might just be the pic. Keep it up, waiting to see the overal result

The foglight bezels are smooth as can be. Could it be smoother? Ya but I am doing this by hand and with a rattle can. The cowl is only sanded with a quick pass of 320 grit. Gonna do the whole 9 yards on it today. Its 54 degrees outside right now. I hope it heats up before I get ready to clear anything... clear coat is so picky.

Alright, got alot done today. Got a late start, but I got a good bit done. The Cowl panel is done. Its not as reflective as I would like, but it is spray paint. I got 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of color, and 4 coats of clear. I polished the final coat of clear with Mequire's Ultimate Compound as well.
The most annoying part of the cowl was the vent ports. Water would sit in there from wetsanding and I could not get them out. had to use heat to get the water out. Used the sun when I could and a blow dryer. Started on the mirrors as well. Got one with a single bad coat of color. It got to cold and the paint did not stick... can see in pics. That will be corrected tomorrow. Sanding the mirrors was a task since theres not a single flat edge so I can sit it down. I used Adhesion Promotor on the Cowl and the Mirror. That comibined with the primer and clear I hope it does not chip due to wind going down the highway. Tommorow I plan to complete the mirrors, install cowl (ugh... tips?), install the emblems, complete the foglight bezels, and complete the rear panel. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I have replaced my cowl before and it is actually a lot easier than you might think. You just need to take you hood completly off and undo all the screws that become a lot more accessible once you do so.

Got the cowl on just fine, had to remove the hood like you said. Currently I have gotten the passenger side mirror done and let me tell you... it looks amazing. I am putting the 2nd coat of clear on the driver side atm. Decided to take a break, been working since 9am Lol. Will have pic later this evening. |

Dude I can't effing wait to see it on the car. I want to do it lol. Glad to see you got the cowl on alright. I was going to go more into detail on it but I was posting it from my phone while waiting in line at Ihop!. =D
I wouldn't be able to stop till it was done. I get so excited when personal projects come together. Also, do me a favor and take a pic of the inside of your door with the panel off if you could please. And a couple more of the clips you have to be careful not to break when removing the door panel. Unfortunately my window is keeping my door from closing, and is about to pop off the track, requiring me to take it all apart and fixing it. =( Been a while since I have done so and need some refreshing.
