Buffing?
I want to buff out my car but I have heard to many horror stories about people ruining their paint. Is it really as hard and dangerous as everybody says? Any tips and techniques would be a really big help.

buy 3m stuff there is a good package on ebay. start with a low cut , then high cut, then polish and wax, if you want you can use a md buffer, there is less chance of burning throu the paint.

very high speed buffers should be left to the professionals, but you can go ahead & buy a lower speed buffer at sears or whatever & use meguires wax on it & you will be absolutely fine...

As long as you keep the buffer moving it should be fine. I do not recommend a high speed buffer as FaStStAnG5-0 said. Very easy to eat up a good paint job with those. I have a low speed buffer that I use on mine and it works great. They also have the new style buffer where the head moves on ovals as to not stay in one place to long. Also keep it away from plastic (like near the windshield wipers) and vinyl decals. I barely touched the racing stripes I had put on my V6 and it burned right through them. You might want to get some Klasse all in one auto polish. I have yet to try it, but I've heard nothing but great things about it.
