FR500 Rims

Hey guys, I have a set of FR500 rims that i ordered for my last mustang before i got the cobra. They are 17" silver and they are deep dish (10.5in) in the back and regular (9in) in the front. My question is will the deep dish in the back fit with 315s or will it hit because of the IRS? I put the rims on but i couldnt let it down because they have no tires on them. Do any of you have deep dish rims in the back with 315s?

Mike

They'll fit but you may need to swap out the IRS bolts for the slim line version. You really won't know for sure until you get tires on them. I didn't have any problems with mine, but I've read situations where people have had the problem with the tires hitting the IRS bolts.

I had 315/35 R17 Sumotomos on mine when I went to the 10.5" rims. Now I have a 19x10 with a 295/30, which is just a hair wider than the 315 on the 17" rim.

I have sumitumos right now... I got them slightly used (the guy said about 3k miles but who really knows)

they have been alright i guess... If you want a better performance tire i would go with maybe a Falken... That's what I'm going to switch to when I get my new rubber

I bought a couple sets. They worked better on my 03 Gt with 302 rwtq, than on my 03 Cobra with 517 rwtq. You get what you pay for, and they are decent tires for the price. However my Continentals don't hook up either. If you're looking for a cheap everyday tire then go with the Sumitomos, but if you want something that hooks better then I say look in another direction.

Another question guys, im ordering my tires now and i wanted to order the low profile irs bolts with them but how many do i need? I know this might be a stupid question but i have never really looked to see how many i need. They come as a set of 2 so is their 1 on each side or 2 on each side?

Thanks,
Mike
