1700 is a little steep. there are kits all over Ebay for between 6-900 dollars. 1700 is a little much. Iv even seen them for as cheap as $400.00 all your buying are different hinges.

Not so worried about price, The site that I was looking at had them for that much. I'm sure I could find them cheaper. I was asking more about weather people like them or not.

i think they look good on the 99-04 generation. Not on the new generation or on the 94-98 generation. and they absolutely look like shit on the fox body's from the 80's.

Do not buy a 400 dollar kit. You get what you pay for and a kit for under 1200 will probably give out on you. I mean having your door fall and such would suck.

Idk about what cars its on power wise but the 400dollar kits come with the hinges only no Hyrdraulic lift for the door and be able to keep it up easier will less stress on the hinges itself...I heard then can bend from the weight after a while and u have to hold it up urself since theres nothing to help you out with...thats why the 1000+ kits most likely have the Hyrdaulic for the kits as well....

yes definately, i've been looking for some vertical doors myself, and without the hydraulics and such the doors would be using only the hinge and they'll bend over time, especially since mustang doors aren't necessarily light or anything, not to be lifting over your head constantly. Get the expensive ones. Oh and they definately only look good on the style just before the 05's and 06's and such and nothing before that generation.

I sell both the bolt on kit and the one with hydraulics. The bolt on kit I sell is a quality one, but if you buy the cheap one after a while of use the hinge becomes weaker and doesn't hold the door up. I've heard real horror stories of big ass doors coming down on peoples heads. There are three variations of the hydraulic kit. I don't have a bolt on kit for a 99-04 model.

one advantage of having vertical doors would be that you could open your door and get out of your car a lot easier when you park real close to other cars. If you havn''t noticed, mustang doors are pretty long.

not necessarily.. alot of doors have to open almost all the way before you can even swing them upwards

I have been running into that problem a *lot* lately causing me to seriously consider getting some vertical doors.

I like the look of em on my car. i had always wanted them so one day i bought em and installed them myself. at the time i got them for $500 total shipped from ebay. And for the people who were sayin the cheaper kits dont hold up i can assure you its quite strong. the hinges weigh 20lbs each and the gas struts after a hella nasty winter are still holdin up strong. Its also direct bolt on, not welded on.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PMP-V...spagenameZWDVW

Those look just like the ones i bought. i wouldnt recommend buying these however unless you purchase struts since this set is used. Its only like $50 for new gas struts
