i prefer hids at 5000k ...cost ya around 125 bucks 8-10k is the blueish color u see on bmws ect they dont have the brightness factor or the ditance factor as good as the 5000k spectrum does....the 3000k is em-azing for foggy and rainy conditions but are bright yellow.....if u go with the hids for like 125 bucks u wont have high beams but ulle have brighter lights then ur stock high beams but be street legal

if u go witht expensive kits they give ya a high beam option

what exactly do you call expensive kits. And you dont have a high beam if you go with the 125 dollar one!? can you still see anyting? i dont understand how the low beam on HID will show better than Hi beams for regualr cars

its all about lumens...candle power ec....the hids are " high intesity discharger" they put out more light then the stock high beams...they cheap kits are plug and play but are great we installed on on my friends cobalt ss its brighter than his high beams the reason the cheap ktis dont have high beams is it runs off ur switch for just turning ur lights off and on...the high beams add more power to the bulb and or angle it up high so it goes farther but when u look at an hid its not as blinding as the brights on ur stock bulbs but goes farther...

HIDs do run hotter than usual because they are pushing more voltage than usual to create a higher output.

uhm actually hids dont runner hotter and it has nothing to do with voltage....it happens to do with wattage....hids run about 30-35 watts....halegens run at about 50-55 watts...they run hotter....they thing with halos is the hids wont fit correctly and halos dont neccesarly cooperate with hid bulbs very well....

yeah HIDs run cooler...you just gota make sure you get a True HID kit...because you might buy some stuff that does run hot....but my Projectors Ive seen with HIDs and they are really good...I like the stock headlight look better but I do have Halo Projectors since I needed to replace the stock ones....for 90$ i couldnt pass up and its the one that cost 399 on AmericanMuscle.com (mustangtuning.com)......if you like the projector look HIDs will work better with it....but you'll just be spending slightly more money getting the new headlights.....just make sure you set the projector aligned and level so the light becomes evenly spread

well all the warnings on my lights say they will melt the housing. So I beleve that is more heat. It might mean without the converter but just slapping a halogen bulb on there will be hotter.

yea they probably did mean with out the conversion kit or maby they don't fit right and touch the housing. I do know for a fact that they use less energy and produce less heat.
