Am I Getting Too Ricey? I'd never think about putting chrome 22's on my baby, or some ridiculous oversized spoiler, but I have done a few cosmetic changes.I want to just get a new spoiler, hate the stock wing. And I'd like to get a front bumper chin, and paint the side skirts black, but I'm afraid that the little editions will look ridiculous all in the package. Are there any sensible recommendations to just make the car more muscle looking? Those are thundercats btw, didn't want anyone to think I have a 6 driving around down with Cobra decals ![]() ![]()

your car is your own.. dont take everything we say to heart. theres a few things you can do, but to make the car LOOk like muscle, you need to make the car BE muscle. adding things like color changes does reflect rice if not done smart. Id start with the wing, but make sure its not something with any sort of a fin.

Thanks for the insight. I'm just pretty new to the muscle scene and know that most body kits are horrendous so wanted a few opinions on some decent exterior changes to reflect the performance of the car, while it isn't much at this point is on it's way to at least hang with the guy around the block per say.

The best way to look muscle-ish is to combine parts from special edition mustangs in our body style (Saleen, Roush, Cobra, Mach 1, Gts, etc)
Here are some suggestions. Some look more sleek looking, while others are more muscley ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I wouldn't paint the side skirts. If you want black meshed in with the green paint, I would get a Mach I chin spoiler as you say you want anyway. You can get the new trunk spoiler in black as well. Then throw on a GT hood and side scoops. Leaving the hood scoop black looks good. (Flat black normally). Get rid of the projectors IMO, I hate them on New Edge Stangs, that's ricey to me. Other than that I like the post above, kinda creating your own look out of different factory parts. Adding the GT scoops to me looks good, still looks factory, but adds a little width and beefiness to the plain looking six. Rims are a huge factor in appearance and stance as well.

The hood and rear bumper are a dead giveaway of your lack of displacement. Not a fan of the headlights. Don't paint the spoiler, tint the tail lights and get a set of smoked headlights to match your wheels.

Hey.... I know I have seen that red car somewhere !
![]() If I could make a couple of suggestions: Lose the billet grill and go for a grille delete. Looks much more aggresive. Projectors are the euproium of ricer... they belong on a space ship or some "smart" car imo, if you know what I mean. Chin on the front would be a great idea. Side skirits... IMO painting them black would look like you grabbed a part from another car and did not care to paint it to match. Keep in mind, these are all opinoins... take them as you will.

![]() And I chose your car because it is a clean look, but most of the stuff that you have done is really easy at home style projects Also, if I had any color but black, I would go with a Shaved Saleen kit and a cowl hood. I believe the kit is called the Stalker S style. Last edited by sudbury33; February 1st, 2010 at 03:31 PM. |

If you dont like the wing, then just take it off and see how you like the spoilerless look. You also said you wanted some black accents, then you could look at painting the back panel of your trunk, just look at Zatrekaz's or 6er w/ vengance's. Paint your calipers black and tint your taillights as well. The biggest thing you have the muscle look, in my opinion, is to lower it.

The owner of AutoHow.TV did an "8 things you should have for your Mustang" video once. Some of the suggestions included adding a chin spoiler to "finish" the front end, add wheel spacers for a wider stance (or buy wider tires), replace the stock antenna with a shorter 14 or 8 inch version, buy a hood scoop, get taillight sequential, get a mach 1 grill delete, (IMO paint the pony black or green to match the car), lowering springs for a lower stance, and finally adding gauges to the inside of the car. For a couple hundred bucks, you car can be transformed!

black touches can really make a car stand out...i mean not on this forum where everyone does it..but in your local town
![]() IMO i'm not a fan of your rim style...to me any 5 spoke rim is sexy on a mustang...yes there are some multi spoked wheels that look good..but yours kinda look like something for a Nissan...but that's just me...run with what you like

Yea I wasn't a huge fan of them at first, they're a bit skinny, but they'll look good once the car is lowered.

replacing your grill , lights if you have stock ones would make it alot meaner looking, and you can sell the ones you have now for like a grill delete or chin spoiler.
take off your stickers and front licence plate i think it will look alot cleaner. Paint your calibers either black so your rims will look better. All of this is basicly free!

First thing I would do is get some spacers for your rear wheels, looks almost like you're running donut spares! Then get rid of the lower decals and batman plate.
