CaptainEo's Cosmetic Overhaul Project

Bought the car in January of 2009. Haven't had much money to do anything besides the standard high mileage maintenance. It's my daily driver so I've pretty much kept it bone stock, although I have recently found someone who said they could get me some good gears so I can get a bit more thrill off the red lights, I'll be looking into a new exhaust as soon as I get my tax refund and probably go ahead and get the CAI install sorted out as well.

In the meantime however I've been trying to squeeze every free and diy mods I can to at least feel like I've made some progress. Also it's actually been pretty cool on my days off having a smoke and running back and forth to Advance because I only had a 1/4 of clear coat left .

Here's some teaser pics, I only have a MyTouch 3g for a camera so bare with me on the quality.

So here's the Double-Din Unit I put in. As most of you all already know the 2000 Mustang came stock with the two separate din bezels, the top most tape player and radio, with the bottom din being for the cd changer. No problem, just had to grab a double din bezel from an 01-04. Painted it gunmetal grey to match the rest of the interior blackout I've completed and threw in a Pioner Avic-F900BT .

Going for a lot of black accents for my car.

Would love to have it resemble one of the great 1970 Boss 302s. So I pull a bit of the styling ideas from that line. I think she'll look great once I get the chin spoiler and new bumper (still deciding, waiting to finish the exhaust).

Still working with VHT.

I know not everyone is a fan of my halo lamps, but I think with the grille delete it'll look pretty sinister.

And finally I found someone selling this spoiler can't wait for it to come in!!!

Yo that spoiler will give you mega downforce.

Anyway, good to have a goal, that makes getting there so much easier, and you do things that are important for that goal, rather than a non-directed, I did this here, that there type of technique. I think going after the Boss look is cool, I would just avoid doing any actual Boss lettering and things of that nature, since it really isn't a Boss. But green and black will look good, just don't overdue any one area. If you are any good in photoshop, or even make a thread about what you want a certain thing to look like, someone would fab it up so you can have an idea before you go painted and the like. Nice progress so far.

Yea wouldn't dare put any Boss, Mach 1, etc. emblems on my car in this community lmao.

Speaking of emblems mine fell off along the highway today I believe, so i'll be replacing those.

Shitty! I saw you had black ones but the tails were broken off? Might as well replace 'em anyway. I like the look of them being black though. Even cooler to me is if you could leave the red/white/blue stripes but have the pony black, I think that would look sweet.

That's a good idea. I'll just tape the under section off.

Yea one tail was already off when I bought the car, and I broke the other one trying to take the stubborn bastard off.

So got some new C Stripes, Cobra Emblems, new spoiler, and did my black out panel using semi-gloss black (kinda satin black maybe?).

aw man. i was with you until the cobra badges came up. i dig the personalization of cars. but, please don't use the cobra badge on the 6-er, unless you REALLY want to.

pretty unique look. keep it up.
