2010 GT Premium Wheel Problem

So I've happily got a set of these sitting in my garage just begging to go on.

And Matt has officially started bugging me about getting them on since spring is almost here. Well I thought I'd just go put them on tonight since I really want them on. Well I took one of my old 17x8 Bullitts off, slid on of the Premium wheels on, and slid a lug nut into the deep hole to the wheel stud. Grabbed my tire iron and the damn thing didn't fit in the hole. I have a tire iron with the 4 ends and only the smallest size fit in the hole, but it didn't go over the lug nut at that point. I grabbed another lug nut and found a socket that fit it, but again the socket wouldn't go into the hole. What the fuck am I supposed to do? Smaller lug nuts? The black acorns didn't seem all that big to begin with..

A tire iron will not fit into mine either (Bullitts). I use a deepdish socket and a key socket (one lug per wheel is "locking") and fit them into the tire iron.

I don't have the acorn lugs. I use the bullitt lugs from AM. I would suggest running to the auto store and grabbing you a new set of lugs. I mean, in all honesty it will look better. You got brand new wheels, why not get brand new lugs? Just be sure they fit the thread pattern and get the slimmest, yet good looking, ones they have.

Then use a deep dish socket that fits over the lugs and fit the ratchet end into the tire iron... will give you alot more torque than a wrench.

The only socket I've got that fits the lug nuts won't fit into the holes though I was hoping to surprise Matt with pics tomorrow haha

What kind of socket are you using? Like... what size. Is it deep dish or regular? If someone does not figure it out by tomorrow I will look at mine and let you know the size of it.

I'll stop at at Advanced Auto or something tomorrow and see if they have any lug nuts that might fit better (along with a deep dish socket). I got the black acorns from AM and they fit into the holes, I just don't think they're gonna work due to the very limited space.

The black acorns from AM. And I'm using a regular socket (didn't check the size, just happened to grab the one that fit the lug nuts), but it won't fit into the holes to get to the lug nuts. If I could get it into the hole, I could get it to work because it fits far enough onto the acorns that I would be able to tighten them.

Ya, the acorns might be to wide to work. The ones I have come to a pointed shape and fit perfect. The socket that fits the acorns would be larger than the ones I use. I bet thats your problem.

Yeah I guess I'm just gonna have to go pick up another set of lug nuts tomorrow.

Eh, I took a good look at the black acorns I have and it says 1/2". I went to Advance Auto and Autozone today with no luck. They carry the acorns in chrome and nothing else to fit the 1/2". AM told me to get a thin walled socket so it looks like I'm off to Menards in a bit.

Found out one of the wheels wasn't made quite right. We got it on but chipped the paint a little by 2 of the holes but nothing noticeable. The other 3 went on as easy as the old ones came off. Actually easier since they were a bitch to loosen up at first

Was the only defect in the lug nut holes? I would make sure its not out-of-round and such. Maybe take it to a shop and have them balance the wheel and check it out.

They ride really well but yeah I'll get them checked out. Well at least the one that I had problems with. The other 3 were prefect
