Vinyl could be a good temporary way just to check if you like the color. I don't think it will hold up well.

You either paint it or don't do it to be brutally honest. Think about it bro... your rims are spinning at an insane rate. Tape/Vinyl will not hold up. Even if that does not get it... think about all the stuff your rims come close to. They are the most abused part of any car.

its a black out panel. you can either paint one on like 6er did, or you can buy the vinyl graphic.

heres a link to the vinyl

I found painting to be the best solution for that. I had the vinyl, but its hard to apply in that location.

That wil pretty much be determined if it is put on by someone that knows how to do it good, you know being able to fix problems on the fly to end up with it looking nice. let me try it this way, two painters are commissioned to do a painting, using the same materials A gets his looking perfect, B doesnt know all the tricks so it looks good but not perfect. See what im saying.

Have you ever done vinyl before perhaps? That will definitely aid you in putting something like that one it.

But dont let me scare you, in theory its not very hard.

i was talking about the vynil you were asking about, i just used a painting as an example of yes it could come out as good as the picture, if the person doing it was good at it.

its not hard if your painting it..

vinyl its a little more tricky.

IMO, i like the paint way better. It looks A LOT better that way.

This is an example of the black out panel being painted:

Lets try it this way. Yes the vinyl could come out good, if it is done properly. and maybe this will confuse things less

That will pretty much be determined if it is put on by someone that knows how to do it good, you know being able to fix problems on the fly to end up with it looking nice. let me try it this way, twovinyl installers are commissioned to do a job that requires the application of vinyl. Using the same materials person A gets his looking perfect, person B doesnt know all the tricks so it looks good but not perfect. See what im saying.

The painting thing was just a metaphor. The way vinyl turns out, other than the quality of the material, is determined by how good the installer is. All vinyl has the potential to look phenomenal or horrible, depending on how it is put on.
