Auto Gear Shift LEDs

Ok, so i am new to the forums but have been reading them for a while. This past weekend i finally decided that i was going to replace my crappy factory stereo. I finished the job all proud because it was the first thing that i have ever done to a car, but now, there are red and light blue LEDs in the radio and green everywhere else. Im planning on just doing the HVAC LED mods that ive seen on here and getting this from AmericanMuscle.
Mustang White Face Reverse Glow Gauges (99-04 V6) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
The other thing that i want to change are the green lights in the gearshift and i havent seen any posts on here of anyone who has done that with an auto tranny. So if you have done it before, how difficult is it to do? and do you have any pictures of the finished product?

Those face gauges look awesome. Bigdaddy just put his in about a week ago. As far as changing the lights in the shifter, I don't imagine it would be difficult. The entire bezel around the shifter should pop right out then I bet the part with P, N, R, D, etc has 3 or 4 screws holding it in. I don't know if that's true seeing as how I have a 5 speed but once you get the main bezel off you should easily be able to see how the rest comes apart.

i like the el glows over the reverse glows..but it's all up to you...as for your shifter....i covered the letters with a black shift boot...it cleaned up the center console and let's me pretend to have a stickshift

Yeah, Ill probably be removing the bezel and some of the dash again soon anyways to install some subs a friend is giving me. I guess Ill just see what I find. I was just wondering if anyone has done it already.

I also considered adding the boot but I think Im gonna see what it looks like in blue first, if I dont like it, then I can always change it to the boot.

Seeing as no one has really taken any pictures working on the shifter, do you think it would be worth it to take some and create a post? (if i figure everything out right away)

+1. And every write up will help someone who might have just given up on a project because they couldn't find the info they needed.
