Ill see what i can do then. He said 150 for the bumper (burnt orange if that matters to ya). Im heading home the first week in april and im gonna see if the bumpers are still available so ill let ya know then!
I just don't lk the 01 cobra bumper as much cause it seems lk then you have to put that chin spoiler on it cause the bumper sits up really high, and i dont lk those at all.

You really arent gonna save that much money though if any...I still dont get where people get this stuff that if they prep the part itll save all kinds of money. Prep work is included in paint time. Not only that generally speaking wiping it with wax and grease remover, anti static, and tacking it off is considered prep...which is done right before its painted not by someone at their house before taking it somewhere so youre still gonna foot some money one way or the other.

Not only that if its a shop that does good work and has a good reputation theyre still gonna go back over your work for a few reasons.

1. to make sure its right
2. so if its not right, and they spray it, and theres sand scratches etc you cant blame it on them and throw a fit
3. if 2 happens, their reputation isnt on the line because of someone elses mistake

Yes, exactly what Ajm said

I always like to think of someone walking into a really nice resturaunt and when the waiter asks for your order, you break out your ice chest with your pre marinated steak in it and say just give this to the chef and make sure to take some money off my bill cause i already marinated it for ya

I'd say that unless you're going to spray the bumpers yourself, don't do the prep work yourself. Like AJM said the shop will just re-do what you did anyway. If you want to spray it yourself, then I'd hit it with about 800 grit on a dual action (DA) sander just to cut through and smooth out the clear. Then I'd primer it, wetsand like crazy w/ 1500 then shoot base/clear and wetsand w/ 2000 and buff/polish

1500 is Way to fine for sanding primer. High grits like that are meant for sanding clear coat down to prep for buffing. If you were to sand your primer with such a fine paper there would not be enough profile on the surface for the following coats to get proper mechanical adhesion.
