...it needs a rotary

From my experience with this there is actually no need for a clear on the headlights if you keep up with them. I cannot stress that last part of the sentence enough. Honestly.... Keeping wax on them is just as good and I have headlight resto jobs to prove it. If you polish and sand them correctly everything will be fine.

I cleared mine, yes, but it is not necessary. Also, 320 grit is way too aggressive. you're going to have so many tracers left behind. It'd be unreal. I wouldn;t venture too far from 600 grit for removing the VHT. hell I would try to stay as close to 800 or 1000 grit as possible. Also, you need to go up to AT LEAST 2000 grit sandpaper before beuffing. Even with a rotary, 2000 grit with a wool pad an M105 is a little finicky. I like the way 3000 grit finishes off much better.

that's where I messed up. I didn't sand anything, I was afraid it'd take the tint, that I just sprayed on, off.

As long as you dont bore down on it and take your time with the right grit, it will not remove much at all. It more of smooths whats there.

Don't get me wrong.. it will remove paint and it does remove some. However if your use the right grit, you will not remove much at all.

However if you hit it with some 60grit... ya your gonna remove the paint quick.

I think tinted lenses, back and front lights look good on red/blue cars etc. But I like the contrast on the black, and other darker cars. The tint looks especially dope and funky fresh on a white car.

What I a starting to really hate however are those "halo" lights. There is a guy around here with a crappy BMW that has them. They are on CONSTANTLY.

Theres no way really. You can use the paint stripper like I mentioned before, but it will not remove ALL of the paint. You will have to sand them and work your way up the grits to get a smooth finish.
