If you wanna go with rattle can i would suggest you pm Zatrekaz. He has become very good with rattle can. He can lead you in the right direction using spray paint.

I need to make a write up that specifcally points out the process of painting interior pieces with rattle can...

in a nut shell:
  1. Wash the piece with soap and water
  2. Dry
  3. Wipe down with rubbing alcholo
  4. Sand in one direction with 320 grit sand paper until it is scuffed and uniform
  5. Spray 2-3 light coats of Adhesion Promotor. Allow 2-3mins of drying time between coats. Allow about 10mins of dry time before adding primer/color or wait till it is tacky.
  6. Spray 2-3 light coats of primer
  7. Sand primer with 600grit sandpaper until it is a uniform feel
  8. Spray 3-4 light coats of color
  9. Spray 3-4 light coats of clear
  10. Allow it to dry for about 2 hours
  11. Wetsand with 2000grit sandpaper until it is a uniform scuff
  12. Polish with a Compound, followed by a swirl remover. You can do this by hand with a foam applicator, but a buffer will make your life eaiser
  13. Allow it to sit over night and install the next day

When I get some free time I think I am gonna make a write up on painting different things with rattle can. Sometimes its just not economical to pay for a spray job...

Also, as for the type of paint... for plastics use Krylon Fusion for plastics. It does not matter to much since you are hitting it with primer, but it helps. I would not reccomend Rust-Oleume brand that Autozone is starting to carry. Try to find Dupli-Color and Krylon products.

Steps:

- Take the shifter bezel off by prying the edges with a flathead screwdriver.(to be safe, wrap a cloth around the screwdriver)
- Once the shifter bezel is off, unplug the cigarette lighter. Its a push-in clip.
- Next is to take off the radio bezel.
- Pry all around with flathead screwdriver, again using the cloth to keep it from scratching.
- You may have to tug a little bit at the end and should just come right out.

FYI, O' Rilley's will make you any color you need. One in multiple stage or one stage that already has the clear coat mixed in...

How much did a can cost? How big was the can? I might go get me some of my color for my engine bay.
