Question

How to remove paint?

I recently got a GT rear bumper that is painted white. I am wondering what is the best way to remove the paint. Thanks for any help

If you are repainting it, and the current base coat has no major problems, grab some Red Scotch Bright pads and use them to scuff up the clear coat really good. It should remove most of the clear coat and leave you with a good scuffed up surface for repainting.

PM TravisAFX, he can give you some really good advice.

Why do you want to remove the paint? is it bad, clearcoat delaminating. or are you just looking at painting a bumper and you thought you had to remove the paint to do it?

Z, if the clearcoat is fine, he would use the grey scotchbrite to scuff the clearcoat(not remove it) if he is going to base right over it. Only time you wanna use the red is if your gonna be priming

Gotcha... still learning

I need to use gray for my hood then. I plan on just removing the clear and going straight to color.
