Engine Bay Project

Well, my next project is under-way. I am going to be repainting the engine bay and the bottom of my hood.

The paint has become very faded, and I want to get it vibrant again. I have already begun scuffing the paint with a Green Scotchbrite pad. With this pad it is very easy to go all the way down to the primer. Heck... the paint is so thin inside the bay that some degresser + elbow greese makes the rag turn red...

I am going to be focusing on the sides of the bay. The hardest part will be getting everything away from the sides to get good coverage. I will be removing everything that I am able to easily. The rest will be taped off using Blue Painter's Tape, Tinfoil, and newspaper. The back of the bay will not be touched (can't really see it anyways).

I am doing this with rattle can... as always

Gonna prime, hit with some engine enamel red, and then clear. I am not going to be very worried about reflection... mostly just getting the color back to the bay. Faded red looks bad.

Under the hood however... I am going to get it as reflective as possible. I want this to be the best paint I have done. My plan is to not only get it really reflective, but also to get some form of a mustang painted in the center in black.

So... pics soon of the prep. All I have for now
