thinking about putting some white 12" stripes on my GT, wondering if anyone has put them on themselves and if it would be smarter to get a professional to do it! thanks

when i had lemans stripes i did it myself...i used a carpenters chalk marker to make sure my lines were straight before i laid down any vinyl...because once you put it down it's a PITA to reset...

it really helps to make sure you're going to put it down straight...btw...don't do it on a windy day if you're outside...i learned that the hard way

Im sure you could do it, but im gonna say since it sounds like its the first time youve done big peices of vinyl, you probably will have many bubbles in it. It either takes alot of practice or someone that can show you personally hands on how to apply it, to get perfefect results with vynil stripes.

If you do do it let me suggest you do it the wet method. It makes applying stripes alot easier.

So if you want to make sure you will be happy with the outcome, id suggest taking it to a shop. If you want to try and do it yourself i will give you some tips that will make it easier, but you prob wont get it perfect, seeing as how its your first time to do stripes and you dont have experienced help next to you.

Yes the more angles there are, or i guess the less flat it is, the harder it is to apply. Thats when you have to get into stretching and manipulating the vinyl to get it to lay down smooth, and thats when the real frustration sets in lol

yeah thanks, from the directions that ive read, it says to drown them in windex so you can move them around and have time to place them in the perfect postion. im gunna see what i can learn before i get them, but now im tempted to just take it to a professional and drop another couple hundred so its perfect. thanks for the info!
