Universal Shift knobs

Anyone know how to make them stay on better without making it permanent? I was thinking to put plastic wrap on the threads and pouring epoxy in the so I can make it threaded. And still use the set screws to keep it tight.

Good, bad, unknown, bacon?

use dope tape, for gas lines and shit... wrap your threads a few times and it will wrap tighter

he he.... it uses a set screw to hold it in right?? simple. take off the kob. see the mark where the set screw went against the shifter arm. take the shifter arm off of the shifter assembly adn put it in a vise or something. using a drill the size of your set screw, drill just a SMALL way in (maybe 1/16th an inch) where the set screw made contact. now put it all back together. with the setscrew going into the divot in the shifter arm it will act like a keyshaft on your crank and stuff and stay on better.

You already have your answer. Drill a small hole where the set screw goes in the arm. Either that or use a small file to make a notch for the set screw to fit in.

tape sounds jerry rigged. do the epoxy thing. sounds like you have some experience with the stuff. i know i have used epoxys for all sorts of things and it's badass stuff. if you do it right your idea will work and be way stronger than teflon tape. plus you can take it on and off as you please and have it fit right every time without having to add more shifter tape.....err i mean teflon tape.
trim the excess before it cures and make sure you jam enough epoxy in are the only tips you sound like you need.
