Pictures of my cracked rims

Here are some pictures of my cracked front passenger rim that I took with my cell phone.

My rear driver's side tire looks pretty much the same way.

Not even 2 weeks ago actually.

I got them put on March 2nd, which is why I'm so pissed at Dip and plan to get a different brand of wheel.

is Dip the shop that ordered them or the rim company?

Dip is the rim company.

Hm... how did this happen? Looks like you hit a pothole or a rock or something, doesn't look like a warp, but maybe it's just me. Especially if it happened to both tires, I'd say you hit something pretty hard.

Well that would be the kicker part of it since the 2 affected rims are on different sides of the car and at opposite ends of the car. While Mustangs are fast and known to do amazing things, I don't think that driving diagonally is one of them. LOL Just joking and not intending to sound like a jerk.

I am unsure of how it happened as I was working when my co-workers returned from lunch and informed me about my front passenger rim. I went out and took the pictures and then checked the rest of my car and found the rear driver's tire messed up too.

If I had hit a pothole, which I didn't, I would expect that both tires on the same side would be messed up.

The guys at the tire shop where I obtained the replacement tire said that the bending of the lip would make it prone to cracking, especially as thin as the metal was. They believe the 2 rims that are cracked were defective because the other 2 are still good, for now at least.
