Engine Bay
well, now that the weather's warming up here (it hit the upper 70's today), i'll be spending a lot more time detailing the car and all. the problem is that the engine bay looks like smacked ass. i know that I should cover the alternator before spraying the engine bay down with degreaser, but what other precautions should i take?

cover the airfilter, distributer cap and wires ( just take em off) and any other exposed electrical.

don't take them off them he has to put tape over everything. spray it as is it won't hurt anything. I clean my engine with degreaser all the time and nothing happens stuff under there gets exposed to rain all the time as well as extreme heat a little cleaner and some high pressure water won't hurt a thing.

i don't have a distributor, i have coil on plug. so should i cover each one?

no if you had a distributor cap that got wet you would have problems but coil on plug you'll be fine.
