Illegal lights

I know neons are illegal in certain states. I also know certain colors are illegal in certain states. Neons arent illegal where I live unless you can see the bulb. I was thinking about buying these side mirrors but they have blue neons on the side. I was wondering if anybody would know if they would be illegal. I would also like to know if anybody has them. I think it would look cheezy if they were always on. But if there was a button or something i could switch them on with that would be ok. thanks.

you could set up a switch to turn them off, but blue is illegal. Any color that is on an emergency vehicle is illegal to have on your car.

well first i hafta fix an exhaust leak......the guy that did my duel didnt seal it up all the way......retard. But its just sitting in my garage right now for a week because im on vacation on Sanibel Island..........there are so many mustangs here its like heaven. I think most are rental cars but its nice seeing the GT-H, '68 stangs, cobras and some vettes and lambos all in the same place. The speed limit is only 35 through pretty much the whole island. Ive only seen one cop and that was the first day I got here. I would have so much fun here if I had brought my car. Parking fines are 3,500 dollars though........ouch

Not entirely true. You're not supposed to have neons turned on on public roads (where I'm from) but there's no law against having a certain color. Now if you get blue neons that flash, yeah you're asking for it.

Laws may change from state to state, just giving $0.02 from mine

well state to state has different laws but any red or blue light on a car that flashes is illegal and those are turn signals.

Yeah, that's what I said. I was just speaking more of neons in general.

Flashing = very bad

If you are in EMS or FIRE DEPT you can get a blue light permit and then legally have flashing emergency lights in your vehicle.

well its not illegal in kansas to have neons of any color........but your right if they strobe.......depending whose on partol that night you might get pulled over. I never have and i have the ones that are straight, pulse to your music, light up with engine rev, and just plain strobe. I had them on strobe one night (on accident) and this older couple pulled over.....i guess they thought i was a cop. It was kind of funny lol. But ya it makes since that those side mirrors would be illegal. thanks

The side mirrors are not illegal. First off you can change the bulb to any color you want. Second they aren't on all the time, they are turn signals. They only come on when you signal for a turn.

im pretty sure any emergency color the strobes is getting more attention than you want and probably pulled over. You said I could choose any color I want.....I would choose blue to match everything else in my car.....so ya. I guess I could talk to the police about it.

In NYS blue signal lights are illegal. I have a friend with all clear Euro lights on his car and the police pulled him over because his brake lights were red enough. Signals have to be yellow, brake lights have to be red and reverse lights have to be clear / white when they are on.
