new theory... wonder if it would work

this prolly belongs in the visual section but heres my new theory...

a 99-04 hood on a 94-98

in theory it should work as the only difference in the actual shape is the 94-98 hood is slightly more curved at the part that goes over the grill, whereas the 99-04 is a lil more angled there (and for the cosmetics of course but that wouldnt play a part in this). that slight difference shouldnt be a problem since adjustments can be made to level the hood correctly. if my theory is correct about the hood being able to fit, then it would open the door to a lot more possibilities for the 94-98 stangs

so what does everyone think about this?

i have a friend back home that is willing to experiment with this theory when he has the time

I think you'll have to do some work on the leading edge of the hood. Do a search on the 3.8mustang forum. There are some images of someone trying it.

you can get it all to work with a good bodyman... theyare fiberglass hoods & fiberglass is easy to mold & shape.. if you get a really good custom bodyshop to do it, it will all work pretty good for sure! some guys can do amazing things!

i would be doing the body work myself... im an ex bodyman just dont have too much experience with fiberglass. i think it will work with some minor modifications but im still not sure.

I've heard that they don't swap easily, but like you said if you can find a decent shop to do it for you then it should transition fine.

Here's a question: How much do GT/Cobra hoods need to be modded to fit on my six? I'm going to put a crate engine in and I want a more aggressive hood.
