00 V6 Shaved Third Brake

So I go back to my body shop to fix a paint ripple from my deck refinish last month when I removed my spoiler. OF COURSE! his gorgeous blonde super model daughter is there and being a baller, I *HAVE* to get something do. So I said WTF, I dont like the third brake light, the only way to fix the discoloration is to sand, refinish or tint...just fucking remove it.

$150 and 7 days later (he's a BUSY shop)

Looks really good man, I like it. I would do that, but I rely on my third brake light to make up for the light I lost from tinting my brakes hehe.

Actually I was thinking Cobra and get the lettering filed in. Just looks clearer. If I can find a part-out Cobra, Id be all over it.

Im searching for part-out 01 Bullitts and Gen4 Cobras.

...anyone want to buy a third tail light? $20!

Window - negative. Ive never liked third brake lights. Theyre useless IMHO.

Trunk Lock - yknow Ive NEVER used it in the year Ive owned the car. I might get that shaved off the same time I do the door handles.

I just didn't know if it was required in your state, or if you just didn't care

And same for me on the lock, I always use the remote or the inside switch

Luckily, FL has no vehicle inspection!

I do have concerns about shaving off the lock. In case I lose the keyless or the battery dies and I need to get in there.

just unlock the door with your key and pull the seats down and you can get in there. Pull the glowing in the dark thing in there. Shave it, you can always get in there.

I agree, it looks good but now that the 3rd brake light is gone, it makes the key lock thing more noticeable. BUT I still think it looks better than it did with the brake. Also this door handle shaving deal how does that work?

Keyless remote rolls your windows down and you reach in and open, or a keyless remote pops the door.

$200 or so for the kit + $350 to shave and paint the doors

Sounds like a lot of money for just having door handles shaved.

This looks really good. I can't wait to see what it looks like with the lettering filled too, if you end up doing it.

That is actually a great price. It is not cheap to remove, fiberglass/bondo/shave, paint and blend.

Agreed! The best shave would be door handles and the awful side scoops.

Anyways OP, the trunk looks awesome. But take that lock out. It will look so sleek!

Damn nice work, Sonicgucci. I really want to remove those fake plastic vents on my car. Now that I see what you've done I'm more inclined to move forward, that looks amazing!
