Yea i have no idea how these headlights work cause they change the setup to two halogen bulbs from the one dual funtion 9007. I wonder if they add a relay to keep the lows on while the highs are activated or if they just switch... Either way i will have to add a relay/diode to keep the hid lit and maintain the highbeam functionality.

Honestly, the more time i spend on HIDPlanet forum this week, the more i think i will just do a retro fit with a bixenon setup.

ok, your 9007 bulbs have 3 wires. on my 02 the middle is black this is ground. there is a white wire for low beam and green wire fro high beam. what your new housings are gonna do is plug into that plug and then it will split the ground into two wires so it can run to both bulbs, and then it runs the colored wire respectively to the high or low bulb as needed.

now here is how I wired my HID....

low beam wire from the factory plug goes to a relay. 12V comes from the battery to the relay and then goes out to the positive of both my HID balasts. ground as appropriate.... and I left teh high beam hooked up at the plug so the halogen bulbs still work. so now once I turn on my low beams the relay activates and feed 12 (or actually 14.4 once my car is running...) volts straight to the HID's rather than running a weaker signal through the cars harness. High beams are still run like normal. gives me more power to the HIDS. and with my 55W kit, I really dont need my high beam and I do a LOT of driving at night.

I still would recommend to NOT have both high and low beams on at the same time.... after running for a while you will most definitely have heat issues... melting, distorting, and discoloring of the plastic lens.... I did this a long time ago with a different car and it did NOT turn out well...

and if you want to go bi-xenon..... I have the 9007 6500K setup here with the controller and everything... you just need to get ballasts... but look at the pics I put on the first page of this post.... it shows the in a halogen reflector housing. scatters light everywhere, hard to aim, blinds everyone... I actually found the light output (usable) was better with halogen bulbs over the HID in the halogen housings....

but if BI-xenon is how you want to go I will sell you what I got and you can pick up your own ballasts. just a thought....

Thanks man for all the info. I'm gonna start with the housing and then look at retrofitting options versus just switching the halogen projectors from an Ebay housing to HID projectors.

Got a question, will HID bulbs fit in aftermarket projector headlight assemblies like the ones that AmericanMuscle and CruizinConcepts sells?
