Grill lighting

Hey guys, been looking around for the past couple days online to see how to add-on an LED strip, im looking to put one in the grill of my 05' V6. The issue im running across is what would be the best setup. I'm no stranger to electronics or anything, but i am definitely a stranger to car modding. Any tips?

wire a fused switch straight from battery to inside and then somehow mount the led. or tie it into headlights or ignition wire.

I don't recommend wiring it directly to the battery unless you don't mind popping your hood to turn them off/on all the time. If I were you I would either wire it to the headlights so it comes on when they do or I would install a new switch inside the car to directly control the LED strip as well as any additional LEDs you may end up adding. I'm not sure what color you plan on going, but stay away from red and blue unless you like being pulled over man. All the undercover cars these days are getting red/blue lights mounted behind the grilles so adding those colors is going to get their attention.

Thanks for the tips guys. Yeah i live in FL so i know most lighting is only appropriate for a static position. And my pony is Silver so im going with a white trim look on the lights. But i think im liking the switch idea, just in case, since i mostly know where all the cops hide out, i can just flick it off! Thanks again guys!

well as long as blue, red, green, or amber lights are not flashing, patterned, wigwag, or strobing they are legal. At least when i ran blue lights back when i was in highschool thinking F&F was the shit

Wire into fog lights, available on each corner of the bumper. Placing LEDs behind the grill emblem creates a cool backlighting glow.

THANKS CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!! Lol.

To control your interior LEDs by dimmer, wire into the dimmer switch wire (under the cup-holder in the center console). When you turn on your headlights, and twist the knob, your LED lighting will adjust to match the brightness and illumination of your dashboard.

In my 94 Cobra I tapped into the wires under the cup holder that attach to a plug for an accessory light.

+ Connection is a blue wire w/ black stripe
- Connection is the black wire

You can splice your two main wires for your lighting into those. If your alarm has been installed to flash the headlights or side marker lights when your arm it, then your interior LEDs will flash too.

Do not rice your lights.

That is all.
