Been there, done that. Use a ceramic paint. Otherwise, it'll peel w/ the heat.

Clean the crap outta 'em. I suggest takin' 'em off that car. Makes for better coverage and less mess on the car itself

ok so removing wheels, removing calipers, painting, wait to dry, replace calipers onto car, replace wheels....

how long should it take and how many coat of paint should do the trick?

2 coats should do it. Pending weather condition(ambient temp, humidity, amt. of sun exposure, etc.) about 15mins between coats.
The most important part of any paint project is havin' a properly prepped surface. I can't stress enough about cleaning the calipers.

Its gonna depend on how fast you can do a brake job. Thats basically what you're doing.

You doin' front and rear?

EDIT: let them dry for about an hour before you start pawing at 'em and puttin' back on the car. Fingerprints in paint sucks ASS

I usually paint my calipers once a year.

Go out and buy this stuff:

G2 Caliper Paint kit

Duplicolor primer (grey)

1) Remove wheels (all at once or 2 at a time)
2) Use caliper cleaner and wipe down calipers real good until brake dust and dirt is gone.
3) Spray a coat of primer on each wheel, wait 10 minutes and spray another coat, wait 10 minutes and spray final coat.
4) When primer is dry to touch, apply 1st coat (with brush) of caliper paint, wait 15 minutes and apply 2nd coat of paint, and repeat as many times as necessary. Usually 3-4 coats are okay.

Here's my finished product:

Nice, eh?

The End.

You can keep your calipers. I'll take the car.... lol....

Yeah, it looks good. Last time I did a caliper paintjob, we bought 2 kits and acually sprayed the paint as opposed to the brush method. Worked pretty good and makes for a smoother finish... If you're comfortable w/ a spray gun

Well, I learned my lesson about spray painting calipers red.
The brush on kit is waaay better.

Just wait...your red calipers will be brown in a few months from brake dust and dirt.

Oh and you don't have to take the calipers off to paint them, just cover your rotors and other gear with newspaper and tape.
