the template idea sounds cool. but not sure that i'd use newspaper. i'm thinking of making a template out of something thicker.. since i'm always messing with mustangs.. i've had offers to tint other ppls windows but i usually only do my own.

i kept a template for the stripes on my cobra hood. it was tricky to cut it right because the hood is uneven.

pre cut you dont have to trim,and the color of the tint on the inside is determind with what soapy solution you use

Not true....
I've seen different brands of tint, they colors on the insides are different depending on the brand.

i noticed that the 2.5 black tint from walmart isnt as black as the tint that was previously on my car. i'm gonna try to find out if the 5% walmart tint is black.. i plan to use 2 layers anyways like always.

ur walmart is more of a greyish color,what im talking about color wise is if you use just water for the solution it will be more black,if you use the blue dawn you will have a slight shade of blue.
certain tints will have the greyish look,it states it on the box.some will have a blacker tint to it....its best to just buy the pre cut offline...the guys on there with the blackbox cutting machine is really good and thick with a lifetime warranty

ill have to take a pic tomorrow,i put it on my bosses truck,i used a different kind of tint from a shop in berea ky on my truck and the other 3 trucks down here.it was only 1 ply but still thicker than anything walmart,advance,etc sells

ive done plenty of cars, including the mustang. the back window CAN be done in one piece and doing it in two looks like shit.

cutting it yourself is not USUALLY going to give you the great look that the precut will, but with much practice it can be better. when i do it with precut i usually snug the lines right up to the top of the window and barely any light creeps in.

the dot matrix is a bitch by the way but if i were you i would use pre cut tint from ebay 25 bucks. the shit from walmart is just that IT SUCKS DO NOT USE IT.... it doesnt heat well and it sucks. its a 1 ply P.O.S. tint the precut on ebay is at least 2 ply and is made from good quality tint

ill take pics of the car and truck tomorrow,and you can tell the difference in pre cut tint and walmart.my car has gila on it which is one of the better store brands, andi used blue dawn on it and it has a dark bluish tint to it,my truck i used tint for a shop on ebay and there solution and it is black and looks alot better

the best solution to use is dish soap+ water ( best to do on a warm humid day if doing outside )

and i have purchased gila brand from pep boys for cheap instillations for friends.... the stuff came out of the box almost looking purple... its cheap.
