Removing Antenna Base?

I know this may be a stupid question, but how is this done. My antenna base has come loose and i want to tighten it and reseal it, but i can't figure out how to take it apart. Do i have to open up the fender well (under the hood) or can i just unscrew it from the top?

go straight from the top and unscrew it or screw it back in. im sure you can find a manual online if your really scared about "f-ing" anything up. just try googling your search for instructions. I say, while your at it, just buy a new antenna (shortie 8inch or 6 inch) cuz i've seen them around. I dont know why the antenna's are so cot damn long on the stangs...really
check out 50resto.com real good site for parts and such.

I think he means the rubber thing that you screw the antenna into, not the antenna itself...
I don't know about a 2000 but I know for a 94, if you open the passenger door, you can reach under there and loosen/tighten it from under like that.

problem solved. going through the door was too tight, so i just popped the bezel off with a screwdriver, which revealed 4 screws underneath. thanks for the help though.
