Interior Floorboard Neon Lighting?

I know right away alot of people will say no, but its just a thought..
only question is what color what go best with a grabber orange mustang?
the entire interior lighting is green (from factory) thus far..so I was thinking green..but idk.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

This was actually one of the first things I did when I got my stang about two years ago. I had led Blue lights to match my stripes. They lit up the floorboards in the front and back. It didn't look ricey at all, and looked quite nice, however, I eventually too, them out because they broke with everyday wear and tear from my legs and what not. If I were to do it again, I would make sure to get dimmer ones. Mine were pretty bright and not to practical for driving at night. It was a distraction.

As for your car (sorry for rambling lol) : Do not do green. The factory green you're talking about is the dash lighting and instrument panel lighting I presume. Don't do green just because of that. Do orange or nothing in my opinion.

I would buy a CAI and tuner first just like we all have, if you haven't already. Performance, then visuals

Your input is greatly appreciated -- & you're right the green would be off, and orange neon would be cool.

Few questions..how long did they work until they broke?
Did you install yourself or get it done at a shop?
I know they aren't "legal", but can someone not in the car really notice unless they're looking in?
Thanks [:

My 2009 came with interior lighting from the factory! So it's defiantly legal!

Mine can change color with the push of a button (same with the lights on the speedometer, etc.) but in your case; I'd go with orange interior too - just to match it with your car!

The lights last pretty long. I've had mine on since I got my car 2 years ago. I believe you should get LEDs as they last the longest and light up the brightest!

I've heard it's illegal to have blue or red (so they're not to be confused with cops). I don't know if that's true lol

And Ken: They didn't "break" but they were led lights that were encased in a plastic clear tube, and the tube broke. it worked great while i had it. and I did it myself, I just wired it under the trim

Interesting! & yeah, I really wish I could change the green in my car but I believe you need the pony package.
MustangsFTW: And the great thing about it being just LED lights is that they're easily replaced

That's for the outside of the car, not the inside!

I'd go check your local auto electronics store, I'm sure they have the LED/Kits and they could even install it for you!

Ebay. You can generally pick up 2 12" (~15 LED) strips in the color of your choice for like $4-5 shipped. Generally they come from China but they last quite a while. I've had a set I picked up on ebay installed in my car for over a year now and they still work as well as they did the day I installed them. Be forewarned, you will get tired of them and they are a ricer magnet. I haven't turned mine on since like 2 months after I installed them. And when they are on, ricers will be all over you once they get a glance inside the car.

+1. this is my experience to a TEE. I thought they were neat at first, but they got old really fast and just become a distraction. And it honestly makes you look like a dbag going down the road.

Yep. My biggest problem was always the glare off of the windows. Made it really hard to see my side mirrors at night and I use them a ton on the highway.

I personally suggest the LEDGlow lighting. They are the best quality, and at an amazing price. You can get the million light ones, that are for the two front seats, and behind the seats as well with a remote to control the speed of the lighting for just 33 bucks now. I bought them for 70 and they were still worth it. I really suggest getting the ones with the multicolor lighting, so you can choose what color you want (it doesnt cost much more)

Here is what I'm talking about specifically:

LED Interior Light Kits Standard 4pc

Good luck

I would also like to add that eBay is definitely not the best idea. eBay items are very hard to keep warantees on, and regardless, installing these lights is a little of a pain, so you really don't want to even have the idea that they could break on you in your head (which is much more likely with cheap eBay lights).

I remember this happening too. My windows would always have a blue glow on them. To hopefully end this thread, don't go with the lighting.

If you do want some sort of interior lighting, go with some really chill smaller lights that light up JUST your floorboard or something. As long as your lights aren't so bright that the light glows through your whole car (like mine did), they might look ok.
