Stay with 17" or go to 18"?

ive been planning on moving up to 18" rims with 305/35or40/18R. and in front with 255or245/40-35/18...but with the 17" tires are alot cheaper i might just stay with 17's but what should i do? what looks better? and with 17x10's can i do 315's in rear? any ways what should i do?

I love my 18"s.... You've seen them... But I would want to try 17"s if I had the chance. Looks beefier. 315s on the rears...

Either size is acceptable and won't alter your performance negatively. I have 17" 03 Cobras on my cougar, but they just don't fill the wheel well enough, I think an 18" rim is more pleasing to the eye on a mustang or cougar/tbird.

Why not just go with 315/35? Much more readily available.

well the GT may be low hp but at least by not as much

@op...honestly i'd just buy a DD rear and go with either a 305 or a 315 and don't go crazy with the tire height.

Stay with 17's if you want good performance/low tire prices. Go with 18's if you want a small boost in performance/better looks but prepare to pay quite a bit more for tires. I find my decisions always come back to how much money I have to spend and what else needs to be done to the car. 17's offer a Pretty nice balance of looks/performance but only if the car is lowered. With stock ride height it looks
