I don't have a brand to recommend, but don't use ebay precut tint. I used that on mine and one of the windows started peeling after 3 weeks. Also, if you've never tinted windows before then expect the first few tries to turn out poorly. It seems like a simple task, but I will never do it again.

What he said about screwing up. I don't do window tint very often. But I have done it on the simple side windows of my vehicles (I leave the curved windows to a pro). If you've never done a window before, I would recommend you go to Advanced and buy a cheap roll for $20 because you're most likely going to crease it, tear it, get dust under it, etc. Get decent with the cheap stuff and then start using more expensive stuff (that at least what I did).

Yeah, definitely go with some cheap stuff to start with.

i have no bad issues with the ebay brand pre cut.the professional black box tint will set you back around 50 bucks with the lifetime warranty and the premium black box is around 40 with a 2 year warranty . its also thicker than most brands they sell on there also.my bosses truck has been tinted with it since April this year and has no problems at all.so easy a cave man can do it

I practiced on a pair of flat windows in my house first(arizonas afternoon sun really heats up a room) its fairly easy but patience and cleanliness are super important!! cheap films are harder to work and fail quickly.first try then bought a better grade(first was from autozone) I did my side windows but the rear window looked like crap (had a pro install it worth every penny) he did ask where I bought it from and said I paid more than he does but the quality was as good. (e-bay premium film) working on the back seat and trying to get the film to lay down takes practice he made it look easy .I think after a couple trys I could get the same results he did but the wasted film would have cost more than he charged (25.00) it took him 10-15mins and looked perfect that was 2 years ago.

Not at all. I got a small steamer to remove mine. It works incredibly well. Tint comes right off along with 99% of the adhesive. You just have to go slow.

I know its an old thread, but I thought to bring it back alive, seeing as I am still very interested in window tinting.
Ive been working more and more with vinyl, and my skills with the stuff have became better. So, i actually want to take on window tint

I found this "endura" tint 40" X 20' in 5%, 20%, #35% for $50.
Would anyone recommend this tint?

I have 20% on back and 1/4 windows and 35% on the doors. It looks darker than it really is from the outside, because of the contrast from white, but I can see perfect out of it.

As a professional I'm gone tell you this. It takes a long time to master this skill. I've been doing it for 15 years and even I still goof up sometimes and waist a peice. I don't do it professionally anymore at a shop but i still do it on the side unadvertised by word of mouth here locally. Take your time, try and do it in a enclosed shed or shop that's well lit up and remember there's no turning back. Meaning you cut once that's it,can't splice it together like wires or weld it like metal. Anyone can do it,just takes practice.
