My VHT tail lights (finished project)

So at midnight last night I got the sudden urge to want to tint my lights. I went to wal-mart since it was the only thing open at the time to get all my required supplies. I first started out wet sanding my tail lights with some soapy solution and 1000 grit sand paper, I was goin to use 2000 but they were out. After I wet sanded both tail lights, I dried them off with a Terry cloth and then took some alcohol to them to clean them up. After the alcohol dried, I took the haze off with another Terry cloth.

After they were prepped, I placed them outside on some cardboard and started my first coat. I let the paint dry about 5 mins in between each coat and 10 mins on the final coat. I only ended up putting 3 coats on since it was dark enough. After I was done with my tint, I started my clear and I ended up using about 5 coats of clear on it. Now this was like 3 in the morning by this time and I was getting super tired from being up since 7 am so I just ended up throwing my tail lights back in after I could touch them since I needed my car to go to work today lol. This weekend I'm going to pull them off again and wet sand with 2000 grit and use some filler compound to get them even more smooth. Here are some before and after photos, enjoy!

My bumper is a little dirty from the recent dust storm that we had here in Phoenix. After I wet sand them this weekend I'll keep you guys updated on how it came out! If you have any questions on how to do this feel free to ask

Those came out nice Matt (real glossy)

Ever consider a blackout panel? I think it would go great with your spoiler and freshly tinted tail lights.
