Dedicated to Tinkerbell Too
After reading thru her thread on painting bezzels, I was inspired. I had already put in recessed red LEDs. Like a dumby i didnt take a pic before hand, but this is from her write up and I have the exact same interior except for the silver knobs, and my ride is black vice her red. My intent all along was to add red highlights to my ride where i could. I also plan to do red rally stripes and paint the scoop inserts behind the doors red. My even try to do the calipers red as well.
![]() ![]() After I install the pieces I did, I will post pics. Tonight I tackled the gear shift bezzel, the arm rests, and the dash air vents and the bezzel around the guages. Next will be the bezzel around the radio/ac controls. Would have done those tonight but need another can of paint.

i personally don't like the highlighted look in our interiors. i think the stock color (other than the knobs) look cleaner. Imo i think the highlights look thrown on and randomly places and i don't like it. but its your car and you do what you wish.

The stock interior is a bit bland, but SOME people go overboard and it just looks like they picked everything they could out of a catalog to throw it together.
Tasteful > overboard

Well got almost all of it done last night. Posting pics here in a few minutes. I agree that it looked really bland, and wanted to touch it up a bit to add something 'striking' to offset the mono-color of the interior. Started at about 8 last night and finished up remouting the last bits at 5:30 this morning. I love the look. As I was driving in this morning I was struck at the difference in contrast!

Not personally a fan of any bright colors in the interior. Just my .02, but it looks like your doing a good job with it. It does look a bit dull though, did you clear coat it?

Haven't clear coated it....yet. Actually the pictures just suck, it looks pretty glossy in real time. Thanks for the observation though. Again, I was just looking for something to change up the dullness of the interior, and it was fairly inexpesive. ~6 or 7 bucks for paint, and 1.50 for a Dr Pepper.

i was thinking about doing mine silver, but, for how light my interior is, i don't think it'd look good
so i was thinking i would just redo them black.

and please do not do any of the A/C vents, that just makes it go overboard like the other guys said. Maybe do the door handle bezels, but not much more.

I kind of like the dull look....I actually don't like my tan at all, though. I want an all black interior. I've been thinking about removing all of my tan pieces to repaint them black, as well as replacing the huge assortment of broken interior parts in my car. Lol. Also, I want to replace my seats & carpet to black ones.. Hard to find cheap black seats, tho =/ So it'll probably be a while before I can find a good deal!
As far as your pictures, I don't think it looks too bad, but ever since I've seen the newer red interior these Mustangs have, nothing compares So sexy....

Looks pretty good! To each their own on the interior colors...I don't mind it as long as it's done right.

Black would probably be good considering the light interior. I think it is always best to go with a opposite offset.

I think the stock interior is kinda bland and there's nothing wrong with updating the bezel and other lil accents, but painting everything in sight is a bit much. As it's been said, there's tasteful and then there's overboard. I'm actually thinking about going with a carbon fiber interior, but I don't want to use any of the cheap stick on stuff that I have found because I don't want it to start peeling off.
With that being said, to each his/her own and as long as you to a good job it may come out alright.

I think the next stop will be those scoops. I want to do them red and then do the honeycomb pattern in black so it actually looks like black mesh laid over the red back....kinda add some depth to it. Again, another inexpensive thing to do. One of these days I will save up enough for new wheels and springs.
