i use mothers chrome polish on my chrome rims. its $6 and also theres a turtle chrome polish i use too, its in a cylinder bottle, it was $3
take a round pad (like the ones you get with wax) put it on, then it hazes, wipe it off |

What I do is kinda strange but hear me out......get a can of aerosol glass cleaner, the kind that foams up when you spray it. Then get a piece of aluminum foil. Spray the glass cleaner on the chrome and rub it wi a piece of aluminum foil, kinda like waxing a car. The cleaner will turn black as it works, then take a clean towel and wipe and buff to a shine. Once I'm done I then wax the chrome w/regular wax.

ahh, you see they ARE NOT CHROME.
if your try to use a chrome polish on the lips, you will most likely damage the clear coat BAD. can you post some pics so i can see what were dealing with? |

Turns out nice actually....I do it to my dads old work truck bumpers every couple months. He likes how the chrome shines when I'm done lol.....sorry though no pics. Next time I do it I'll grab some pics.

If that's what you've done, then your more than likely gonna have to at least wet sand it to get the scratches out.

A heavy polish/compound might take out some of what you've done, but if that doesnt do it, your most likely not going to get it out man.

Looks like it's just the clear coat to me......worst case Demario is to strip the clear coat off and have them recleared. I would try a light wet sanding to see if that helps first.

Yes and put a capful of dawn dish soap in the water....it adds a lubricant to the water. Also dip the sandpaper in the water a few times to clean it out. After you have sanded you can use rubbing compounds to bring the shine back.....also use light pressure while sanding and don't spend a lot of time in one place.
