vert top issues

ok i really couldnt find a place to post this so since my car is a v6 this will have to do....

ok the prob is that my pass side window gets caught on the top and the door will shut and the glass will all be stuck on the top leaving about a 1/2 inch gap... so when i shut the door i have to roll the window down or close it from the outside by pushing on the window...what to do???

Im a vert owner too. I feel your pain. Everyone I know with one has had an issue or two with the top.

Its hard to tell from your description exactly what going on. Vert problems suck. Has the car been in any accidents at all? The smallest rear enders can cause hell. If the body "torques" at all, it can throw the top off in wierd ways on one side or another.

Do you have any seals that have torn or ripped? I can only suggest putting it up real slow and making sure its unfolding right not getting caught on anything along the way. You got pics of the problem???

nice pics. Knowing all the issues Ive had with mine, Id have to say its not the door or window being off from what I see there. From the pic the window looks flush with the back window.

I am a little stumped but check this out- The bar that runs across the top of that the vinyl is attached to may be "bent" or off a bit.

This may be difficult to describe so bare with me. I had an issue similar to what I see in the pic. The top was off a bit but it was in the back. Check across the top of your car from the passenger side to the driver side. Feel with your hand across that bar to see if any of the staples underneath have popped up or out. This might cause some "slack" in the material which will make it droop in one spot like in the photo. Like I said, I had this happen in the back and I just pulled back the material and put a shitload of new staples in. Its been fine ever since.

If thats not it, did the material get stretched at all from something. It never got snagged on anything on the way up or down?

good luck man. I hate vert problems. Let me know what you figure out because I'll print this page and save it for when it happens to mine... and Im sure its only a matter of time!

One more thing as I look at that pic again. Is the top in the right spot on the other side? I mean, is it coming up short or is it fitting right? Also, it may just be the light in the photo but the material looks really stretched around the bar right above the window.

I have the exact same problem with my drivers side door. I haven't been able to find anything uneven in the top, but the driver door window raises up about three eighths of an inch past the quarter window when the top is down and the windows up, and there is a about a sixteenth inch gap between the two windows with the driver window sticking out a little.

Does anyone have any idea how whatever guides the windows works?
