did some painting over the last few days

So I've been throwing around both of these ideas since picking up the GT. One was to paint the roof black and the other was to color match my mirrors much like the 03-04 Cobra. Had a little hesitation just cause it's not common and I wasn't sure how either would look. Well after I intalled my 02 GT hood scoop I had some paint left over and decided to just go for the mirrors. in my opinion it looks awesome! I decided to just go for the roof too. This was a bit more tedious as I had to do a lot of masking off and sanding. I decided to go with a semi gloss finish to match what I had already done with the hood and rear trunk lid. Drawback is getting even goats can be a pain, especially on such a large panel. Well after a few days of fighting with it, I got it to where I'm happy with it.

Curious on some of your thoughts.

Very impromptu photoshoot

I like the mirrors. I'm not a fan of two tone paint so I would be bias to the roof.

What paint did you use? How did the finish turn out in them?

Been meaning to retint the car, think it'll set it off a bit more. Right now i'm working with the previous owners poor tint job. Kind of purple and peeling in the back.. This is kind of what i'm going for

Yeah def, just throwing around the idea of if I should remove the old tint myself or just pay extra to have it removed by a shop

Actually don't really care for those wings. Eventually I want to go the ever popular Cobra spoiler, but until then I'll keep it stock. I already moved it back as far as I could which definately makes a difference with how the rear end looks

I have the same spoiler and hated it until I moved it back and painted it black. Ford did a shitty job with the positioning of that wing, but moving it back helps so much.

Agreed! It looks rediculous where they position it. Was one of the first things I did to the car

I want to move mine back on my 2000 but I'm hesitant because if I don't like it I can't go back. Nice job with the paint though. Looks good.

I would just remove the old tint yourself. I can't see paying someone to remove the old tint, when it takes maybe 30 minutes to take all the tint off. Just use a steamer on the tint, and it will peel right off. By the way, love the look of the painted mirrors

I promise you won't regret it. I was just as hesitant. Thought I might move it back just a little so if I didn't like it I could still have the holes covered by the spoiler. Then once I had it off I just decided to notch it as far back as I could. It really makes the rear end pop.

The studs aren't at the very ends of the wing so depending on how far you move the spoiler, you could possibly go back if you don't like it. If you move it as far back as possible, you probably won't be able to go back. But I moved mine just far enough back that I could reuse the 2nd set of holes and just drill 4 new holes for the rear studs and alignment tabs. If I wanted to, I could probably move mine back to the stock position and still have the new holes covered. Here's a pic of it moved back (it moved ~1-1.5")

(Don't worry, my tail lights aren't that light anymore)

What I like about it being at the edge is it sits almost parallel with the bumper
