Yellow headlights?
My headlights are yellow from age and was wondering whats the best method to make them clear again? A buddy of mine said to take some 300 grit sandpaper and lightly sand them and then buff them to a shine, said it works everytime. Anyone else tried that method.

nope...but I've heard of that too. The only other way, I suppose, is to change them out for new ones

I bought a "LENS RESTORER" at Autozone for $5.99. I put in on at night and thought it worked ok but in the daylight they still looked shitty. I used a fine grit sandpaper and soaked the paper in water. I buffed them a bit and that helped more than the chemicals I paid 6 bucks for. Mine werent really yellow though. They were just "pitted" and full of bug stains. They look fine now.
Also, I had to replace one of mine a while ago. I looked on EVERY site to find the cheapest. Of course you can find one used if you want to take the risk of it looking like shit.... but it would probably be fine. I wanted mine new. Believe it or not, the dealership gave me the best price. I went in and told them I could get it online at Autoanything for $84 and they gave it to me for $79. It was a shocker. If you have t buy them, try the dealership, it wont hurt.

300 grit would be killer on a headlight. But you could take 1000 DA for a little bit, then 1500 DA and sand it real good with that, making sure not to let your paper load up. Then go over it real good with 2500 DA. You could do it by hand by wet sanding it if you don't have acess to a DA. Then buff with compound with a wool pad a couple times, then glaze it with a foam pad it would shine good again.
