Painting Engine parts.. have some questions?

Ok... In the midst of painting my upper intake, cold air intake, throttle body, and alternater and other front of the engine pulleys.. Should i take off the alternator, and or other pulleys to paint them.. or mask around them, and paint them( of course after a good cleaning, and sanding)

Take them off. You will have a better paint job than spraying in the bay.

would it look cool to paint the bolt heads for the upper intake manifold BLACK, while the upper intake itself is RED??

That depends on your taste. But im a sucker for the Black/Red color scheme I would go for it . Question though, what color is your stang?

You could try it, but there's a good chance that the paint will get pulled off when you go to torque the bolts back down. And yes, remove everything you're going to paint. Let it all have plenty of time to dry before reinstalling. I got impatient with my CAI and put it on too soon. It doesn't look so hot now that the couplers have gotten ahold of it.

Red wouldn't have been my first choice (although my theme is white and black) but it came out nice. I don't know if you have emissions where you live, but if not you could delete all that EGR crap and it would really clean up the engine bay
