i am not a pro but i do know a little about painting. first off is this something your only thinking about doing once, and do you have the use or need for a compressor? other then for painting your car?

well if your going to only do it once, then a cheeper spray gun might be the way to go for yourself. i think it is advance auto that carries the AM PRO (i think it is) line of air tools. get your self a LPHV (low pressure high volume) spray gun, they don't use as much CFM's as the other type of gun. might want to look into a DA sander also. i bought a AM PRO DA and have been very happy with it. however most air tools LOVE there air, and this is where your going to want to kick in the money for a good compressor. i just bought one about 4 months ago at lows and was very impressed with the price. i would go with a 60gal. this way you have no problem running your air tools. you also have the choice of single or dual stage compressors. the dual stage is a little quieter and pumps and has a better out put then the single stage.
