+1. They sure do. After awhile the material will start to tear out of the seems. That is the issue I am having with my Cobra seats.

I have cipher racing seats(site sponsor) and they work great.

Summit actually has a set of seats that my buddy runs in his stang.
Summit Racing SUM-G1159-2 - Summit Racing® Sport Seats - Overview - SummitRacing.com. They are pretty comfortable for a race style design.

Either way you can't really go wrong.

Since this thread was relating to seats i have a question. I dont remmeber where, but i saw someone rocking 05-09 leather seats in their 99-04 mustang. Has anyone on here tried this? I am wanting to get the 05-09 seats because they look so much better in my opinion. Would i have to change out the whole thing? Or would it just bolt on with no problem? Thanks

Sorry but I have a question, If you get aftermarket seats you will loose the power seating abilities right? And don't you need some sort of bracket?

i have 05 seats in my 91 fox. i had to put my fox seat brackets on the 05 seats. only took 4 drilled holes and a little bit of hardware

the 94-04 stangs have the same floorpan as the foxbody's , so i would think it's possable.

And here is my cheap alternative. Sport seats from a 93 on craigslist for $100. They bolt right in.

Don't buy a seat unless you can sit in it first.

That statement has a double meaning.
1. Don't buy a seat sight unseen (quality of the material)
2. Don't buy a seat you cannot fit in (happened to a friend of mine)

From waht ive heard a 22inch wide seat will be too wide for our cars. Keep it around 21 inches wide.

fellas just an update. i purchased a set of torn apart seats from 1995 gt some is one doing a saleen mimic on, for 10 dollars. I took my drivers seat apart, used my original bottom half with the wiring and correct shape to mount back in and took the top half of the seat frame off the 1995 gt ,put my top half upholstery on it, and connected it to my bottom. I could not be happier! its got a lumbar support air couch I can blow into and plug with a nail and its way more comfortable.

The problem with my old seat i discovered was the the seat frame where my right shoulder would fit was cracked and shearing all over the place. I could not figure out the problem with taking off the upholstrey.

Ironically this guy with the saleen mock had just installed 05 and up seats installed and all he used was 2 pieces of straight square tubing with holes dilled like every 3/4 in. or so ( i forget the correct name for this hardware) as an adapter piece between the seat and the sliding racks.

lastly this was a pain is the butt and took me all day and a decent amount of blood but completely worth it. best of luck and thanks again
