Looking For Some Plasti Dip Info/Pics

I haven't had a Mustang since this whole Plasti Dip craze started and now that I'll hopefully be back in a stang in the near future, I need to get some info on this stuff. So I got a few questions..

1. How durable is this stuff? Am I going to end up peeling it off on accident when washing it?

2. When I tape off an area I'm spraying with it (such as the deck lid), how do I remove the tape without tearing the shit out of the Plasti Dip? Keep in mind I will probably clear coat the Plasti Dip, so would I need to make a cut along the tape line with a razor blade?

3. Does this stuff build up thick easily or will is spray on fairly thin like paint would?

And if anyone has pics, I'd like to see what a Plasti Dip deck lid looks like with tinted tail lights (glossy) on a 99-04. Also Bullitts painted with Plasti Dip and anything that has been gloss clear coated after being Plasti Dipped. Depending on how well this stuff works, I'll probably be doing most of my accents with it (same with my gf's stang). Thanks guys.

You can only peel it off with a decent amount of force applied on an edge. So washing it should be just fine.

2. When I tape off an area I'm spraying with it (such as the deck lid), how do I remove the tape without tearing the shit out of the Plasti Dip? Keep in mind I will probably clear coat the Plasti Dip, so would I need to make a cut along the tape line with a razor blade?

Simply treat it like all paint. Spray the Plasti-Dip and let it become tacky between coats. Let it get tacky but a tad bit dryer, and then clear it. Let is sit a few mins, and pull the tape off at an angle before it dries.

3. Does this stuff build up thick easily or will is spray on fairly thin like paint would?

From my time using it, it sprays on like normal paint.

And if anyone has pics, I'd like to see what a Plasti Dip deck lid looks like with tinted tail lights (glossy) on a 99-04. Also Bullitts painted with Plasti Dip and anything that has been gloss clear coated after being Plasti Dipped. My Plasti-Dipped Bullitts

They've been on for about 4 weeks now, gone through 5 washes, and no issues. I hit them with 1,800 PSI of pressure with each wash and they hold up great! No peeling, fading, cracking, they're awesome.

Awesome Jeff, thank you! The GT I'm looking at has Bullitts and that's exactly what I was thinking of doing to them

Yeah of course dude!! Honestly...I like them so much, I'm thinking about just painting them this winter. I think I'd go with a Satin finish though.

Satin would look nice. I plan on clear coating it as well for a little more glossiness. Painting would definitely be the way to go if you want it more permanent. I was planning on painting them, but I figure I'll eventually upgrade to something like 18" Saleens so being able to pull the Plasti Dip off would make the wheels easier to sell.

Yeah, I really wanted to do that as well, but to get perfect lines it took me quite a while to get the masking absolutely perfect (I'm a perfectionist...hence why detailing a good hobby and job for me. hahahaha), so I ran out of day light to get them done. I have a garage and three 1,000 Watt Halogen Towers, but I didn't feel like plugging them all in so I could continue working. hahahaha

Plasti Dip is releasing a "glossifier" to make plasti dipped items glossy... It should be in stores by the end of this month, so just wait until then instead of using actual clear

...and they are coming out with a metalized and gold enhancer
check it
