Wheel Refinishing

Well, it is with great sadness that I tell you all...I just sold my TF wheels...

I was offered a great deal and could not refuse it, due to some upcoming expenses that I could use that money for. (My '40 Buick has been in the shop for 3 months and is ready to pick up too!)

Along with the deal I am getting a set of 17x9 and 17x10.5 satin 03 cobras...

Now the thought crossed my mind to strip the wheels and hand polish them, but I dont know if I am that dedicated to sitting im my garage by myself for weeks, polishing my wheels (that are most likely just going to be on the car until spring).

So I am looking to have the wheels re-finished. One obvious option is to have them powdercoated chrome. This should be pretty inexpensive and easy...

I also thought about maybe having them hydro-dipped, but Im not sure how that will look. Ive seen a black vette with carbon fiber dipped wheels that looked sexy as hell...but on a stang, I just dont know.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this matter?

And please, no telling me how stupid I am for selling the wheels...

I think polished would look amazing on your car. It goes so well with the polished brakes and SC.

Your crazy for selling the TFs.....

I think I may try to polish them myself...if I get sick of working on it I can take them to a shop to finish and it shouldnt cost too much.

Kinda considering hydro-dipping them though...I know of a good shop that does it, just not sure of the price yet.

Everytime I start to regret selling the wheels I just think about the Buick. I have a feeling the Cobra is going to take a back seat for a while while I focus my time on the Buick this winter.

If you read the post you would know that I am not selling them to do better :facepalm

Im selling them to use the money on my Buick...

The cobra is going to be sitting all winter while I focus on getting the Buick ready for my wedding.

In the spring I plan to get another set of TFs...but in the mean time I have a set of cobras to play with...so make a suggestion or GTFO!
