Any Painters Around Here?

I'm contemplating repainting my entire car. I have decent knowledge about the basics to painting and such, but would like to be enlightened on the matter of respraying my whole car.
So, I'm just curious if there is anyone who paints cars around here that can give me a helping hand.

Thanks

(Didn't know where else to put this thread...)

Aren't you the plastidip dude?

Nocoloradogt did a jeep a while back that turned out great using rustoleum paint, I think this is the link:

1990 Jeep Cherokee Build is Underway!

This is a legitimate way to paint a car that will last for a while, but far from "professional" Do you have access to a garage that can turn into a paint booth for a week or so? Do you have access to a good large air compressor? What is your budget?

Alright... I am going to be brutaly honest here. Don't take it the wrong way, its for your own good.

If you could not follow through and do the Plasti-Dip correctly, then you will royal fuck your car up trying to really paint it. True painting is a very detailed and maticuluous(sp) process that requires time, chemcials, money, and a enclosed place to paint. Sure, you can skimp on areas like the enclosed location and same some money, but it will show in the end.

Most people think painting is simply an air gun, some paint and some sand paper. Wrong. There are a ton of other chemicals and tools needed. You need to have a VERY good air tank and air gun. If you don't you will have orange peel in the paint and it will look like crap. Spray just the slightest bit to much or to little on the clear coat and it will haze.

Not to mention enviromental conditions. If you don't have an indoor place to paint you have to deal with temps which will effect the paint. You also need your air lines removed of any water.

Honestly man, and don't take this the wrong way, based on your previous plasti-dip project you need to get this done professionally.

the atmosphere of this project is different than that of the plasti dip. I have an auto teacher that is very familiar with the process that has agreed to give me a helping hand. While, I would have to make an enclosure from plastic and pvc piping so overspray doesnt fly everywhere, I have an entire indoor shop at my fingertips. Along with the shop is an air gun and a compressor.

All that being said, I will still have to purchase all of the materials from sandpaper to paint, etc...

As for my plasti dip project, You live and learn. I pulled out because it looked like shit, and didnt want to waste any more money. And I wasnt as really worried about that project for the fact that plasti dip is removable...
