Installed hood pins, pics :)

I love the looks of hood pins on new edges and finally got the balls up to install mine. My buddy bought some a long time ago and never put them on his car and he knew I liked them so he gave them to me when I bought my car. Well here they are what do you think?

Before (kinda during):

After:

I cant find anywhere that sells the lanyards. I love the look of them but nobody sells them. Lowes, Home Depot, Autozone, Pepboys, Advanced Auto, etc. I have looked everywhere. If any of you guys who dont like them have some laying around and want to throw them my way let me know

Thanks, Yea I can find them online for like 3-5 bucks but its cost double that to ship them. I'd rather run without them.

Run without them, in the long run they will scratch the paint. But now you need a hood for those pins.

I put them on because I like the look and my latch is all messed up so I will be taking the latch off here soon. And my paint isnt the best anyway. I think it looks so mean with the lanyards. I just wish I could find them. The ones my friend gave me where too short heres a picture.

I know they look long enough but they wont reach

You still need your latch. Those pins are just for safety measures. Usually used on aftermarket hoods.

Whats the difference? Hood pins are used on racecars without latches. The hood doesnt move with the pins on and the hood not completly latched. Its hard to get the hood to lock. I have to really slam the hood to get it all the way down. Aftermarket hoods arent much lighter either. Our stock hoods are fiberglass.

The difference is the fact a race hood is re -enforced at the pin spots and normally have 4 pins not 2. Try spraying your latch with some wd-40 and seeing if that works. I know the stock hood is light maybe 40lbs or so. I have my stock hood in my backyard.

they do not have 4 pins, the have 2 if done right, or if its a real race hood, they have Dzus fasteners. 4 hood pins is ghetto

hes talking about pull off hoods. they have 4 pins. And 40lbs is NOT light for a hood lol. My 5" cowl hood weighs like 15lbs lol.

i know exactly what hes talking about and no they do not have 4 pins. You of all people should know this. got to the track and look at the cars and tell me how many have 4 hood pins... chances are there are 0 unless someone didnt know what they were doing. a true lift off hood is held down by Dzus fasteners, not pins.
