Black or Chrome

Hey guys I'm getting new wheels and not sure whether to go black bullitts with the polished lip or chrome bullitts. I'm leaning towards chrome right now but if I did would tinting the tail lights be too much black. I already tinted the windows, since I was going to go for a blacked out look at first. Now i'm trying to find what would balance the chrome wheels. Thanks

i like the gray bullitts with the chrome lip, but my cars got gray racing stripes. if your looking for something to catch eyes and turn heads get you some chrome, however i have a set of polished alluminum chrome plated wheels and they shine just as good as chrome. Also you would save alot of money.

My bad i forgot to add these. This is with the wheels I had for a day or two but my car place and a couple others said they were too big for my car, even though I know people use that setup.

I already got a full refund on em through AM, but yea I wanted to keep them but they did rub a lot. After hitting only once or twice there was noticeable wear and marks on the car and tire. I just wouldn't be able to get new tires mounted and balanced and then put back on my car at my mechanic. Parents didn't think it was safe either after talking to the goodyear shop guy. Oh well, now i'm looking for 17x8s

if i were you on that car id go 275s on the back. 17's of course. nice car you got there though. and with that color car, chrome or pollished chrome wheels would look great on it.

The goodyear guy probably wanted to make a sale to you.. But anyways...

Their is no Problem with bigger rims. Unless you get kindof.. You know.. Ghetto.. 24's or something..

But that set would have been FINE on your car.. With some small spacers to fix the Rub? You would have been sitting Cherry on the pavement..

If anything, The wider tire is better for handling. You LOSE Straight line speed though. Trust me on that.. But the Trade for slow vs sexy is an easy one for me to make. Lol

My stock tire width is 205.. I have 245's now all around.

I WANT to get 235 in front and 265 in back.. Maybe 255.. But either way, Wide tires don't hurt a thing.

those rims come STOCK on cobras... ad they actually have less space in that area than you do. the rub might have been you bottoming out or something. get new shocks and struts and lower than sum' bitch. you can fit 18x10.5's in the rear and 18x9's in the front and look damn sexy.

I plan on lowering it at some point, and no I have pictures of where it was hitting on the inside of the wheel well. I'm just going to go 245s all around or 245s front and 275s back. But the tire places all just said they wouldn't put it on, and then they wouldn't put a smaller tire on that wheel either. Which if it was just about the sale I think they'd make money off the new wheels and mounting.

I run 17x9s all around with 275s out back and 245s up front and im lowered... theres no way you should be rubbing at all on a new edge with the setup you had. And personaly those cobras look soooooo much better than bullitts

Yea I loved those wheels but they came with 275s all around. I was going to just put 245s up front on them but no tire place around me would mount them, saying it would stretch too much. The 275s definitely rubbed up front, besides hearing and feeling it, I have pictures on my other laptop I can post later. So unless I find any other 17x8s on another site, AM only has bullitts that size.

275s up front do indeed rub, as for the the tire places around you they are complete idiots, my fronts are 245s, absolutely no stretching, hell they fit perfectly. You could also mount 255s however

17x9s are fine up front as long as they are mounted with 245s or 255s

Iam running 255' on the front and 295's on the back on a set of 18" black chrome god speed wheels with no rub, get the right offset and you won't have a problem. I would go with the black wheels.

You can see where it was rubbing. Idk much about the offset, is that just something different for each wheel or can you change it. I checked with two tire shops and a racing shop around here, none would stretch 245s to fit a 17x9 inch wheel. I know I had read a bunch of stuff on here that people run that setup, i'm just saying around here it would be a pain to get new tires when the time came.

The 245s arent wide enough to fit normally onto a 9 inch wide wheel. So to fit them on the wheel they have to be stretched, which the tire guys said warp the outer edges of the wheel, so they wear unevenly and more quickly since theyre under more stress. But a lot of wheels only come in 9 inches, so i'm not sure where to head.
