Retinted my tails, Reclears Heads

Had the day of today, and happened to have a class cancelled so I thought I would take care of a few things that needed to be done. Finally recleared my headlights and retinted my tails. Some of you may remember my tails were originally blacked out, then I took that off and bought some smoked tint, and it stayed bubbled. Well, I finally smoked my tails with spray.

wet-Scuffed with 1500 grit
Spray 2 light coats of VHT
wet-Scuffed with 1500 grit again
Sprayed 5 coats of clear
Wetsanded with 2000 grit
Buffed to a mirror

Heads were wetsanded with 1500 grit
Sprayed with 5 coats of clear
Wetsanded with 2000 grit
Buffed

Pictures: What do you think? (And Yes I know I have a bulb with 1 filament burnt out

Looks good, did you just hand buff them out and what kind of compound did you use.

I used a rotary with a polishing pad and meguiars ultimate polishing compound. Then I used meguiars finishing polish with a finishing pad. I didn't want the tails to be too dark, just wanted the smoked look and they are pretty gOod now.

I used Dupli-Color color match clear, worked pretty good. I tried Kyrlon (sp?) before and it turned white when it dried.

Thanks. I see you left the backup lights clear on yours, I started too but I wasn't sure how it would turn out. But I guess it's not bad since my tails aren't that dark.

DO IT! Took me around 4 hours for the tails and the heads. Would have taken less time if it was a little warmer, it being 40 degrees it took a while for the clear to fully dry.

I would if you were close-by! It's not hard at all a long as you have the patience to wetsand and buff and spray thin coats.
