I painted the intakes behind the doors. I used silver and then carefully painted the honeycomb black.

Think it looks crappy??? I can always repaint them black.....

i really like it a lot actually, it's not very noticeable, pretty subtle, but it balances out the silver of the fender emblen.

This may sound familiar....a little bit anyway.

I think they look like fish-net pantyhose on a car. Its cool though. I should make my wife get fish-net pantyhose... then put pantyhose on the car... than make her drive it around town with no pants on... everyone would say "Hey, I wonder if those are fish-net pantyhose or are you keeping chickens in that scoop behind all that chickin wire. and are the fishnet hose really holding that ass in or are they just for looks?"

just messing with ya...

actually hey JA, I'm looking to get a hood scoop for my car like yours. if i bought just the hood scoop by itself, would I somehow be able to install it on the stock v6 hood, or would I need to buy a new one?

Im not sure...you'd probably be able to put it on. Ive only seen them with together from beginning. I think Ive seen the same exact hood as mine without it so you should be able to put it on. You never know, check a junk yard and see if it matches up.

I like the Idea and if it was reversed I would like it more. The silver area now should be black to simulate the fake holes- the black should be silver. It is confusing to the eye right now that natural beleives there are holes / thats why Ford used the honeycomb, it has depth and appears to be funtional. switch them out and I think it will have the same effect IMO. And I think you may like it even more. Again I like the idea...very unique. They actual make aluminum inserts for the side scoops, have you looked into or considered those. take care zoo

i agree w/ ZOOTOXIN, the black would look better for the holes. but either way i think you did a really good job with it & it does look really good!

Giddie up! That will be hard though. Don't laugh, but I used a Sharpie to do the black on top. I guess they have silver permenent markers. And yes, Im in florida and have been in massive rain storms and killer sun and there is no fading (yet) at all. I'm gonna give that a whirl. Like I said before, I can always change it back. Maybe I'll do the hood scoop too and match it all up. Make all them bitches look functional.... too bad they arent real in the first place! lol.

dont use a magic marker...that is trashy!!! bad You have a beautiful car...use paint pens. its real oil based paint. Hardware store , pep boys or a craft/hobby store will have them. Tape off the car with plastic and spray the honeycomb back to black with a small can of black spray paint. This way you only have to buy a silver paint pen.

I personally would remove the insert, spray it semi gloss black or satin ( not flat, dirt will stick to it) then use a very small foam roller to roll on the silver. what ever you do...Please please do it right. :wink
