Interior (carbon fiber)

I've been tryig to think what I want to do to the interior of my stang, i love to gut it and go for the black cobra interior (my interior is silver and black... mostly silver)

I prefer darker colors and so I'm going to get seats I know, but what I'm unsure about is the rest of the silver interior... or grey... I want black.

I can't imagine how expensive this is going to be and I will almost assuredly mess it up if I were to try it myself. My question is would carbon fiber vinyl look good? I think it would depending on how overboard I go with it, but does anyone suggest I try it myself? I've seen the ugly results of a friend of mine trying it himself (i think it was tape... different from the vinyl as far as a i know)

I think the carbon would look could done right... I'm willing to put in the tedious work, but only if an amatuer modder like me can get good results.

Any opinions? Advice? It's greatly appreciated.

You can get all of the dash, door panel, rear seat panels, etc. from a junk yard car or online, but just the interior trim, carpet, and headliner will cost you nearly $1000. The Cobra seats- front and rear- can be gotten for $700-$1000 off ebay.

I love the all black interior myself, but the cost is just so much. The next car I get will have an all black interior though.

Has anyone worked with carbon fiber? I haven't found any good interior pics of a mustang (if you know of any that would be great)

I want the carbon fiber (or look a like) shift knob. And I've seen panels that look very nice in other cars (hondas and what not) But I want to see mustangs. Does anyone think the panels would look good?

:wink

Oh, yes. I'm interested. It's very difficult to find pics online... I've found only a few...

I likes, I likes.

Would there be an advantage to real carbon fiber?...

I questioned a company I was interested in and they had no idea... I don't think, I'll buy from them

Since those pieces are so light weight anyways I think the only advantages would be strength and cosmetic.

i really don't know, not mine... but i really don't think it was that much for the overlay and i know he has many other color options avail too.
