help with a carbon fiber hood

So, i bought a Saleen style carbon fiber hoo for my 94 gt. but the guy i bought it off of had it painted like the one on the Steeda 05 GT on the banner. The thing is i can pick the paint off with my finger nail. So i am looking for any suggestions on getting it offf easier without messing it all up. Thanks

I'd be pretty careful of using any kind of stripper on a carbon fiber hood. I don't know anything about painting carbon fiber but I'd imaging anything designed for stripping paint off metal *might* be damaging to the hood.

yea i didnt plan on using a stripper, but i used some thinner on it and it didnt do anything. i guess if i mess it up on the edges ill just paint it to match my car.

you can paint it, it all a personal choice. i think it was done to blend it into the car better. like i said its done just like the steeda car. its carbon fiber with just paint on the outside edges.

i would think that if it is painted they had to rough up the gel coat, so if anything i would think you would have to get it recoated if you did get the paint off
