Hood scoop?

Should I get a prepainted hood scoop from American Muscle? Has anyone used their prepainted scoops and how hard are they to install? Something I can do myself or do i just bring a 6 pack of beer to my friends shop and have them do it?

I have considered this mod but decided unless the scoop was going to be functional - able to bring outside air into my engine - then I was not going to do it. As for looks, I think a hood scoop looks cool.

Bottom line: If you want one, put it on and to heck with what everyone else thinks. Its your car - make it look like you want it!

Greywolf,

I'm definitely a fan of the hood scoops. This hood scoop is not only made of durable high impact plastic for a long life, but comes pre-painted to match your Mustangs factory color straight out of the box!

The installation is simple and straight forward. No messy bondo or fiberglass is required for installation. The Pre-Painted Hood Scoop installs with the supplied hardware, drilling template, and 3M doubled sided automotive bonding tape for a quick installation.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!

I would buy the scoop but it's not really an option since I have le mans stripes. Wish AM had a decal kit that you could put on the scoop so it matches w/ the stripes.

that's not bad. i'd be concerned with fitment. looks like it has gaps towards the front and something like that would drive me fn crazy, lol. s197's look good with certain scoops just not scooped out to the max, lol.

That was my opinion, just a single hood scoop, nothing on the sides or windows.
